About the Project:

Students of the JNTUH University and other JNTUH affiliated colleges check their results from the official website - https://jntuhresults.in/. The website also provides news and updates regarding the examinations and the results.

I have been a student of the JNTUH and my experience with the process of checking my result and the website as a whole has not been so delightful, let alone the times when the result itself didn’t seem any delightful either😆. Having learned that there is room for improvement in the existing design, I took this up as a personal redesign project.

Although my initial decision was to redesign both the desktop and mobile views of the website, this project deals only with the mobile view.

1. Identifying the Problem

Having been a user of the results page for 4 years, I already had a brief idea about the areas of frustration my peers and I were experiencing. However, I decided to study the views and opinions of more users and examine if they had similar experiences too, along with an intent to discover new issues that I personally haven’t faced.

As a part of the foundational user research, I conducted User Survey and Interviews where the participants were my college peers and students from other JNTUH affiliated colleges. Most of the questions I framed were open-ended which were necessary to receive elaborate answers.

a) User Survey:

Number of participants: 19

Below are some of the common answers to the questions asked in the survey:

Q1) How do you come to know that the results have been released?

Q2) What process do you go through to check your results when released?
